Senior Technical Product Owner

We are looking for a tech-savvy Senior Technical Product Owner passionate about building great digital products.

As a Product Owner, you own the product development cycle and manage the technical aspects of specific products in the client’s portfolio. You are responsible for gathering requirements and writing functional specifications. You will help to shape solutions and define the end-to-end functionality. Therefore the role requires a clear understanding of architecture and the technical requirements in place. On a daily basis you will create, define, maintain and communicate user stories/specifications while collaborating with the development team. You will also manage the backlog to streamline the execution of product development priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components of the Product.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of digital product development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working with enterprise systems and EdTech products and platforms (EdTech experience is a must-have).
  • Tech savvy and passionate about building products.
  • Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making.
  • Proficient in productivity applications such as Microsoft Office, Project or Basecamp.
  • Proficient in using collaboration and CRM tools such as Slack, JIRA and Aha.
  • Metrics-driven: Strong analytical and synthesis skills are a must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information.
  • Fluent in Programme, Portfolio and Project Management methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience with best practice agile Scrum development.
  • Scaled Agile Framework and Lean Startup principles at practitioner level.
  • Strong writer and public speaker in front of large, senior groups.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with customers, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties.
  • Proficient in English: Native speaker or C1-C2 Level with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • P&L accountability; Increase the revenue and profitability of customer accounts and products.
  • Act as the “messenger of the market” from the outside-in to the rest of the organization, identifying common patterns of demand and features with other Customers POs that help optimize delivery of products and save costs.
  • Contribute to vision and product roadmap delivery.
  • Own product development backlog and implementation.
  • Prioritize product development backlog and define iterations and stories.
  • Establish acceptance criteria and ensure quality of the delivery of iterations and stories.
  • Efficiently and proactively plan and provide specifications and solutions for products and services, collaborating with different internal teams.
  • Liaise between the Customer and the Development team, manage expectations and guide on the best approaches and solutions.
Nice to have
  • Previous experience working for a SaaS organization or publishing company.
  • Proven organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success.
  • Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) Level II.
  • Other languages: Spanish or German at native or proficiency levels in business context.
